History Formerly known as Superior Plumbing & Heating, Inc., The Superior Group, Inc. began with a crew of two installing commercial and residential heating conversion systems when Anchorage made the switch from oil to natural gas in the mid-1960s. Backed with the success of this operation, we moved into new construction in Anchorage, and later expanded into the Bush as well. We added sheet metal fabrication to our line of services expanding our capabilities with the purchase of Alaska Sheet Metal.   Superior Mechanical Service, a LINC contractor allows us to continue to make sure the systems keep working long after we install them with .  In 2004 we added another company to our group, Haakenson Electric, to include a complete efficient electrical system as part of our package for our clients. Providing in-house design for the systems we bid and install increases our customer service and the purchase of Support Services of Alaska in 2006 enhanced our in house design team.   Today The Superior Group, Inc. serves general contractors and building owners as a full service mechanical and electrical contractor, whose work is backed by our long-standing quality and experience.  We have been 100% employee owned since 2004.  We have a strong past, a bright future and the quality committment that employee ownership brings. Design While there are no shortcuts to doing a job right, we can save both time and money by doing it from start to finish, beginning by doing the job design in-house. Since mechanical installations comprise about 20 percent of most jobs, it's obvious the work must be done right the first time for you to stay on schedule. Fabrication Alaska Sheet Metal works with project engineers to provide all the sheet metal and hardware needed for any job, large or small, including specialty sheet metal pieces fabricated in-house. Our piping and sheet metal fabrication shops let us tailor parts before and during installation to meet all building specifications. This enables us to help you make last minute on-site adjustments with maximum efficiency.   Installation The same skilled professional touch of Superior Plumbing & Heating and Alaska Sheet Metal carries through to the actual installation of a plumbing, heating and air conditioning system on your job, as well as Haakenson Electric for an accurate installation of your electrical system. Our careful installation process, with its eye for detail, is conducted step by step under the supervision of project engineers, with continuous support from the design team. All phases of our installations are double checked to ensure quality control, so we can correct any problems before the job is finished. We keep you up to date on our progress and performance from the initial design through final installation. When the job is finished, we provide your client with a complete manual on the design, technical specifications, maintenance schedules and warranties for the system. Continuing Service The Superior Group, Inc. doesn't leave a job behind just because we've finished construction. We're local and we're Alaskan. We're here to stay.
